So its been a while!

So much has happened since I last blogged!

On Friday I will finally be moving out of campus and to Galston in Ayrshire. I got a graduate job with a renewable energy consultancy, so as of Monday I will be employed as an EIA and Planning Consultant. The company is opening a new office up here in Inverurie, but it isn’t due to be completed until November, although they think it could be earlier. So until then I am in Ayrshire learning the ropes. Scary!!!!

I will be leaving Daniel and all my friends, to start work in a place I have never been to before, and I don’t even know where I will be living yet. My manager is sorting out accommodation for me, but I don’t know whether it’ll be a flat or bed and breakfast or what. If it is a flat I will be driving down on the Friday to collect keys, back up the road on the same day, then as its my brothers 21st on Saturday we are going to GoApe then out at night. Then back down the road on Sunday! If it is just a B&B or hotel I will just go down on the Sunday instead.

Two months without my boy!!! Well, we will see each other every other weekend or so (or more likely every weekend…being apart will be rough). But from spending pretty much every single night and spare moment together for the past 2 months to only seeing each other at weekends is going to be awful. It takes close to four hours just to drive there, let alone get the train or bus. Not cool. Atleast it means that bafter November we will be in the same place, far better than moving elsewhere. Been together for 3 months this past Saturday, but feels so much longer; in a good way :)

Today was spent in town with Amanda getting office clothes… that type of shopping sucks! Made up for it by getting a new North Face fleece (/dork) and Canterbury trackies. Hopefully we will be going up Bennachie on Thursday, so I will wear my matching North Face trousers and new Vibrams. Daniel and I went up last weekend and it was quite possibly the nicest day of summer. It was beautiful!

Right now I am waiting for the boy to finish his evening college class then I’ll be over to his for a nice big hug :)

And tomorrow…..GYM!!!! Not been in ages! Life has been so busy with work and applying for jobs, and work always left me exhausted by the end of the day. So tomorrow and Thursday and possibly Friday if I’m not away to Ayrshire I can hit up the gym. Did a search for gyms down there, there is one in the town and a CROSSFIT GYM (!!!) like 10 miles away. It looks pretty expensive but we shall see. If I’m staying for two months instead of one I’ll suck it up and get training there, it is the dream!

New VFFs!

New VFFs!

because I am a love sick puppy right now, this post is just to say…

I love my boy <3

Result!

Got my 2:1 and I am so relieved! Happy happy happy.

Although its a bit of an anti climax, still no graduate job. Found another one to apply to so am on that later tonight if I have any energy after the gym. Feel exhausted from the days suspense.

D Day!!

Today I have an interview with the external examiner from Harper Adams, then by 5pm I should know the results of my degree. SCARY.

Don’t know if we get individual results for exams and coursework and dissertation, or if its all going to get lumped together as 2:1, 2:2, or a 3rd. Will actually die if I get a 3rd. I average out to a 2:1 I think (marketing mark was shit but topical issues brings that up), so as long as my dissertation is a B I should be able to get a 2:1. Getting a 2:2 isnt the end of the day but byebye corporate career…I’ll be a bit upset if I dont get a 2:1, I put in the work and I could not have done any more for it.

Got about an hour and a half to study for this interview, need to read my dissertation and coursenotes except they are mostly at home so a wee look at old essays will have to suffice. Would have done it all last night but we went out on saturday and I was so brain dead. No more drinking til Amandas birthday in 3 weeks time.

Had a great weekend. Friday evening I went to the beach with the boy and his friends, who are all nice and funny. Saturday we went for a road trip round Strathdon, got lunch in Ballater, then went out with the crew in the evening. Really good night. Yesterday was spent in bed being cosy then a walk up the back woods with some sunbathing. And today, the week begins again…work suuuuucks but I’m not in til after lunch due to this interview. The job interview I had on friday went well but I think they are looking for a more agricultural person, plus the job is in Dunfermline which is most definitely not in the list of places I’d want to live. Its only redeeming feature is that there is a CrossFit gym.

Better go get my study on, aghhhhhh

LIKE A BOSS

So my gym session was amazing, total reminder of why I love it so. And why haven’t I been back on it proper until now??

Started off with the intentions of just upper body. Earlier on today I saw a super buff guy walk from the gym to halls, he must be a guest staying in one of the empty rooms. Cameron was in at the same time as this guy and said he was lifting some heavy weights. One of which was a 70kg barbell…which I deadlifted steady for 5 reps

OH YEAH!! After the fifth I thought I’d quit whilst I was ahead incase I (knowing my luck) scunnered my back. I’m going to feel the pain tomorrow but for now am mega chuffed with that effort.

  • biceps 12.5kg 3x10
  • triceps 12.5kg 3x10
  • shoulders 15kg 3x10
  • push ups 3x10
  • deadlift 70kg x 5
  • leg extension 40kg 3x10
  • leg curl 40kg 3x10
  • tricep dips 3x10
  • sit ups 3x10

So glad I went to the gym. Will I manage to get up at 6.30 tomorrow and get in some cleans, thrusters and squats? I will try, before the epic doms sets in.

21:43 and I am only now entertaining the idea of gym tonight. Got a cup of coffee to drink first then I will walk the 2 minutes across the grass and get working.

I did wake up at half 6 (after still being awake at 2am), fell back asleep until after 8 when I awoke with shiiiiiit got to go to work! Totally multi tasked during the morning meeting, toast and travel mug in hand for breakfast.

I am dying today though - hayfever and asthma was rife whilst mowing grass, then the piriton I popped in the afternoon made me so drowsy I slept for two hours after work. Yesterday Amanda and I were being idiots seeing how loud we could shout POTATOOOE, which for me meant my lungs deflated and I was left with a raspy death rattle…so today my lungs are sore with every deep breath. 23 going 80 or what.

Ipod bedtimes

Really need to sleep so I can kick some ass at work tomorrow, but stupidly put on my ‘recently played’ playlist on my ipod, and it is simply tune after tune.

Observe:
Skinny love - bon iver
Brand new colony - the postal service
Say it aint so - weezer
This is the part - gratitude
Save your generation - jawbreaker
When your heart stops beating - +44

After +44 I will let myself listen to one more song (either all in white by the vaccines or one by two door cinema club) then its sleep time. Love music bedtimes!

In other news ball on friday was a hit, saturday was spent being rather tired, and today I went for a walk at loch of skene with sophie and applied for jobs. D is officially now my boyfriend, even my mother knows from a brief visit on saturday when one of the boys shouted out to her about D.

Plans for this week is to hit the gym hard (ball photos; not so good), see D on tuesday, date with Amanda wednesday, study for interview thursday and have interview in Dunfermline on friday.

BALL IS TONIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!!

And I have a broken toe!! FML! While on my date with boyo we climbed onto the rocks at the beach, and on the way back down (bare footed) my foot shunted and stubbed the crap out of itself resulting in a bruised and broken middle toe. Its a lot better today than it was yesterday so maybe not broken but whatevs, it freaking hurts in heels. But I will soldier on, like a boss.

CANT WAIT!!

The boy is coming round later then we will go to the ball with my bff and her man. Working a half day today, Amanda and I are hitting up M&S for some wine and assorted alcohol, then its nap time, shower, and prep for tonight. YEAH.

We started planning ball in February. Everyone was like “uhh why are you planning it so early??” but when you are a 2 man team for a whole college ball, you need to be organised. Amanda has been super duper awesome the past couple weeks pulling it all together and dedicating so much time to it since I’ve been at work, so mega props to her. LOVE YOU!

Tonight we can finally relax, get merry, look pretty, and show off our boys in their smart suits/kilts. :)
